Lenhart Medals to Pace 'Berg to Championship

Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) shot a 107 (70, 37) to take home medalist honors at the Capital Fall Classic and to lead the Heidelberg College men’s golf team to the title. Capital University hosted the event at the Westerchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Lenhart won by a stroke over Wittenberg University’s Jordan Millice.
 
“Kevin has being playing very well so far this fall after missing the first tournament,” stated head coach Garrett Humes. “  He has not shot over a 78 yet and is definitely the team leader at this point in the season.”
 
As a team the Berg shot a 457, outdistancing runner-up and Ohio Athletic Conference foe Capital’s 463. Standing in third was Wilmington College at 471.
 
Humes comments that the team continues to play well every tournament. “The team has been doing very well at multiple events this year. At this event, other teams left the door open and they took advantage. For example we shot the last nine holes collectively under 149.”
 
Overall the Berg had all five of its golfers place in the top-30, with four standing in the top-15. Joining Lenhart in the top-10 was Craig Meyer (Norwalk, Ohio / St. Paul) who tied for eighth after shooting a 115 (77, 38).
 
Falling two strokes begins Meyer was Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) with a 117 (80, 37), good enough for 13th place. In a tie for 14th was David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) who fired an 81 and a 37 to finish at 118.
 
Rounding out the placers on the day was Sam Arnold (Springfield, Ohio / Kenton Ridge). Arnold shot a 124 (84, 40) to finish in a tie for 26th.
