Senior forward Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) of the Heidelberg University men’s soccer team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 1, 2010.
It is Buhrman’s second player of the week honor this year and third of his career. He earned the honor during the week of Oct. 4 and picked up the feat as a freshman for the week of Oct. 1, 2007.
Buhrman guided Heidelberg to its first Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title in the program’s history as it defeated Wilmington College with a score of 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 30. Three days earlier, the senior forward scored two goals in a 3-1 win over OAC foe Ohio Northern University. It marked the Berg’s first victory over ONU since 2002.
Heidelberg has the number one seed in the upcoming OAC Tournament, which in turn hands the Berg home field advantage and a quarterfinal round bye.
