Defense is Key in Victory for the Student Princes
A strong defense led the Heidelberg College men’s soccer to its fourth victory of the season against Defiance, which they won 1-0. Goalkeeper Jared Kealy (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) had an unusually calm night at the net as the Yellow Jackets only recorded nine shots, none of which were on goal.
Heidelberg out shot their opponents 21-9 on the night and recorded six shots on goal. Freshman Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) scored the lone goal of the night for the Berg at 3:34 in the first half.
Heidelberg’s record raises to 4-5 on the year, while Defiance falls to 0-8. The Berg returns to action Saturday Sept. 29 at home for their Ohio Athletic Conference opener against Muskingum, play begins at 2:00p.m.
