Crusaders Top the Berg at Crew Stadium

The No. 24 Capital University Crusaders pushed passed the Heidelberg College men’s soccer team 1-0 for the win as the Ohio Athletic Conference foes faced off at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Heidelberg falls to 7-7 on the year, 3-2 in the OAC, while Capital continues its season at 10-1-3, 3-1-1 in the OAC.

The Crusaders lone goal of the day came in the 17th minute of play as Heath Oberle headed a ball into the back of the net off an assist from Josh Thompson.

Owen Botting (Billingsburst, England / The Weald School) led the offense for Heidelberg with four shots on the day. Defensively, Jared Kealy (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) suffered the loss a the net for the Berg, recording three saves for the contest.

Heidelberg returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 16 at John Carroll, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
