Three Pick Up All-OAC Accolades
Three members of the Heidelberg College men’s soccer team were recognized with postseason accolades by the Ohio Athletic Conference. Sophomore Mike Harling (Rochdale, England / Holy Cross) earned a spot on the All-OAC First Team, while seniors Raul Mendez (Mexico City, Mexico / Green Hills) and Brian Juart (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Darby) were named to the honorable mention list.
Harling picks up his second-consecutive first team honor after ranking second on the team with five goals, two assists and 12 points. For the year, Harling, a forward, took 30 shots, with 13 on goal. He picked up one game-winning goal.
Mendez joins Harling as a multiple award winner. The midfielder earned honorable mention honors a season ago as well. For the year Mendez tallied two goals and two assists for six points. He took 24 shots on the year with 11 landing on goal.
Earning his first postseason honor is Juart. At forward, Juart saved his best season for last, tallying a team-leading six goals, to go along with two assists, for team-best 14 points. Juart took 42 shots on the year and had 19 on goal.
Heidelberg concluded the season at 7-11-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the OAC. Under the guidance of 20th-year head coach Brian Haley, Heidelberg made its 11th appearance, second-straight, in the OAC Tournament.
