‘Berg Drops to Baldwin-Wallace
Berea, Ohio – October 6, 2009 – The Heidelberg University men’s soccer team lost a tough battle against Baldwin-Wallace College with the score of 3-0. The Berg drops to 6-4-1, 1-1 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-5, 2-0 in the OAC.
Baldwin-Wallace’s Andrew Thompson was the first to score as he placed a ball from 20 yards out in the 31st minute and snuck it past Heidelberg’s Ryan Smith (Roanoke, Texas / Keller) to make the score 1-0. The score was all the Yellow Jackets needed to capture their seventh-straight win.
Adding insurance for the Yellow Jackets was Pat Brennan in the 39th minute from a rebound kick from 12 yards out and Jeff Grater off a penalty kick in the 60th.
Heidelberg’s Grant Beck (Ronaoke, Texas / Keller) tied with Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) with three shots on the night. Buhrman and Michael Juart (Hilliard, Ohio, Hilliard Darby) each had a shot on goal. Buhrman leads the team with 38 shots, along with 16 shots on goal for the season.
Heidelberg looks to get back in the win column as they host Wilmington College, Saturday October 10, at 7:00 p.m.
