’Berg Falls to Centre 1-0

The Heidelberg College men’s soccer lost a close one to Centre College in the first round of the Adidas Tournament, hosted by the Colonels. Centre scored their one unanswered goal off an assist in the 18th minute, leaving the Berg to fall to a record of 2-3 on the year.

Freshman Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) led the way for the Student Princes with two shots, one being on goal. Also shooting on goal for Heidelberg were juniors Brad Howell (Lexington, Ohio / Lexington) and Raul Mendez (Mexico City, Mexico / Green Hills), each had one as well.

Sophomore Jared Kealy (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) fought hard the whole game at the net for the Berg, facing eight shots on goal, but finished with only seven saves on the day.

Heidelberg returns to action tomorrow for the conclusion of the tournament. They face Emory at 5 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
