Men's Tennis Tops Muskingum

Tiffin, Ohio – April 2, 2010 – The Heidelberg University men’s tennis team jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles play and never looked back en route an 8-1 victory over Muskingum University today in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts. The win improved Heidelberg to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the OAC, while Muskingum fell to 2-5, 0-2.

Muskingum won at first doubles by a score of 8-3 but the duo of Patrick Ryan Earl (Madison, Ohio / Madison) and Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin) responded with an 8-4 win in the second doubles spot. Adding another ’Berg point in doubles play was the third team of Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio /North Royalton) and Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Central). Cerveny and Booth won 8-3.

Heidelberg swept singles play in straight sets. Winning 7-5, 7-5 at first singles was Bobby Lochotzki (Oak Harbor, Ohio /Oak Harbor) followed by Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the second spot.

Posting a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles was Cerveny and Booth won 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles. Rounding out the victors was Earl and Yetter. Earl won 6-3 and 6-1 in the fifth spot, while Yetter was victorious 6-1, 6-3 at sixth singles.
