Men’s Tennis Ends Season with Loss at Otterbein in OAC Quarters

TIFFIN, Ohio—Otterbein University defeated the Heidelberg University men’s tennis team, 5-0, today in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Cardinals swept doubles action and won at Nos. 3 and 6 singles to clinch the victory and move on to the semifinals.

Seniors Bobby Lochotzki (Oak Harbor) and Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor) and sophomores Dorion Kempf (Galion) and Zach Schwenning’s (Barberton) matches went unfinished.

Heidelberg ends its season at 10-9 overall, while Otterbein improves to 10-10.

Singles Results: 3. Ryan Shutt (OTT) def. Patrick Ryan Earl (HEID) 6-0, 6-0; 6. Dustin Goldman (OTT) def. Matthew McDivitt (HEID) 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles Results: 1. Ryan Roberts/Andrew Sutter (OTT) def. Bobby Lochotzki/Cliff Goetz (HEID) 8-2; 2. Steven Albert/Kendall Coffman (OTT) def. Patrick Ryan Earl/Zach Schwenning (HEID) 8-3; 3. Ryan Shutt/Tyler Gibbons (OTT) def. Dorion Kempf/Matthew McDivitt (HEID) 8-4.
