Norris And Florence Pick Up All-OAC Accolades

The Heidelberg College men’s tennis team was represented by two players on the 2007 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Team. Earning honorable mention accolades was junior Maxwell Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) and freshman Luke Florence (Tiffin, Ohio / Calvert). It is the third-straight all-conference honor for Norris. Norris was named to the honorable mention team in 2005 and earned a spot on the second team a season ago.
           
Norris closed out the 2007 season winning four of his last five matches to put together a 10-6 overall record for the year at the second singles spot. He teamed up with Paul Evans (Manchester, England / Holy Cross) at first doubles and finished at 11-6.
           
For his career, Norris boasts an overall record of 32-15 and a 29-22 doubles mark. Norris has recorded double digit wins in each of his three seasons.
          
Florence, in just his first season at the Berg, led the way with 11 victories. He spent the year at the sixth singles position and recorded an overall record of 11-3. Florence joined forces with Eric Guindon (Martinsville, Ohio / Wilmington) at third doubles and went 11-5 on the year. Florence closed out his freshman campaign victorious in six of his last seven outings.
