Newcomers Seal Fall Victory For Men's Tennis
Newcomers Jacob Craig (Toledo, Ohio / Sylvania) and Brad Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) tallied straight-set victories to erase a 4-3 Heidelberg College deficit against Ohio Wesleyan University today in men’s tennis action at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts. Craig and Cerveny’s victories gave Heidelberg a 5-4 advantage in its lone match on the fall season.
Craig won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles, while Cerveny sealed the Berg victory with a 6-4, 6-3 win at fourth singles.
Maxwell Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) and Craig teamed up to give Heidelberg an early point in doubles play with an 8-4 win at first doubles. Also picking up a point in doubles play was the duo of Ahmad Al-Turk (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) and Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville Central). Al-Turk and Booth won 8-4.
Norris added a 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles to close out the scoring for Heidelberg.
