Up and Down Day for Heidelberg Tennis

The Heidelberg College men’s tennis team defeated Concordia 6-3, while the women fell against Spring Arbor 9-0 in the second day of competition in Hilton Head, S.C.

The team of Ryan Michel (Milan, Ohio / Edison) and Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) won third doubles 8-3 for the men’s team, while Max Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) and Jacob Craig (Toledo, Ohio / Sylvanis) fell at first doubles 8-6 and Moody Al-Turk (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) and Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) lost second doubles 8-4.

In singles, Norris won first singles 6-4, 6-1, Al-Turk was victorious at second doubles 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, and Craig defeated his opponent at third singles 6-1, 6-1. Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville Central) suffered a loss at fourth singles 6-3, 7-6. Rounding things out for the team Cerveny won fifth singles 6-2, 6-4 and Lee Moomaw (Bloomville, Ohio / Columbian) won sixth singles 6-1, 6-4.
 
The women and men continue in S. C. against Westminster at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
