Heidelberg Victorious Against Bluffton

The Heidelberg College men’s tennis team improved to 5-5 on the year with a 7-2 victory over Bluffton College. The Student Princes won every match except at fourth singles and first doubles to claim the win.

Max Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) won at both first singles (6-3, 6-0) and at second doubles (8-2) where he teamed up with Ryan Michel (Milan, Ohio / Edison). Moody Al-Turk (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) won at second singles (7-6, 6-1) for the Berg, while Jacob Craig (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) claimed the win at third singles (6-0, 6-1). Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville Central) suffered Heidelberg’s only loss in singles in the fourth position, losing 6-2, 6-4 to Bluffton’s Sean Williams. In the fifth spot, Brad Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) emerged the victor and defeated his opponent 6-2 and 6-1. He was followed by Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) who won sixth singles 6-0, 6-3.

Doubles saw Al-Turk and Craig suffer the loss in the first position, 8-6. Lee Moomaw (Bloomville, Ohio / Columbian) and Yetter won third doubles 8-4 to close out the day.

Heidelberg returns to the court on Saturday, April 5, down at Wilmington College. Play is set to begin at 1 p.m.
