Student Princes Defeat the Quakers
Heidelberg College raised its record to 6-5, 2-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, when the men’s tennis team defeated Wilmington College 5-4 at home. The Quakers fall to 3-5 on the year, 1-3 in conference competition.
Moody Al-Turk (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) won the first match of the day for the Berg at second singles, 6-3, 7-6, 14-12. He was followed by Jacob Craig (Toledo, Ohio / Sylvania) at third singles who won 6-0, 6-0 to blank his opponent. Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) won fourth singles for Heidelberg 6-3, 6-3, while Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) picked up another win at sixth singles by way of a 6-2, 6-4 victory over his opponent.
At doubles, Max Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) and Ryan Michel (Milan, Ohio / Edison) clinched the match for the Berg with a 8-2 win at third doubles.
Heidelberg returns to the court Tuesday, April 8, away against Ohio Northern. Play is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
