Norris Receives OAC Honor
Max Norris (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield) made the list for Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference for men’s tennis this season. Norris, a senior communications major at Heidelberg College, finished the year with a 9-8 record at first singles, and a record of 8-8 in doubles where he spent the majority of the year in first position.
Norris has been a standout for the program since his first set foot on the campus in the fall of 2004. In his first season, Norris posted 20 wins and earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention for his efforts on the court.
During his sophomore year, he went on an eight match win-streak at the end of the season while at third singles to finish the year 12-4, 8-9 in doubles. That same year he was named Second Team All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention.
Last season, Norris won seven straight in first doubles competition with partner Paul Evans and finished 11-6 overall, 10-6 at second singles. He once again was named All-OAC Honorable Mention and Academic All-OAC At-Large First Team.
On Monday, April 21, the men’s tennis team won its seventh match of the year, but more importantly senior Norris finished his career by posting his 80th career win. His career record of 80-50 places him second on the all-time win list for the Berg, just behind Aaron Coch, a ’98 grad, who racked up 87.
