Hendricks Competes in 400 at Nationals

Sophomore sprinter Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) represented the Heidelberg University track and field team in the 400-meter dash at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday (May 22). Don Drumm Stadium, on the campus of Marietta College, is the host site of the three-day championship.

Hendricks crossed the finish line in 49.03, placing him fifth in heat number three, but he did not qualify for the finals.

It is the second time, and third event, in Hendricks career that he has participated in a national meet. He qualified on the indoor track in 2008 and this year's outdoor track as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team. He is the third ’Berg athlete to run at the national outdoor championships in the 400-meter dash.
