4x400-Meter Relay Provisionally Qualifies for Nationals
The Heidelberg College men’s track and field team’s 4x400-meter relay raced to a NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying mark today at the Kent State Tune-Up hosted by Kent State University. The group of Cory Beebe (Medina, Ohio / Cloverleaf), Justin Zuchowski (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick), Mark Childs (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany) and Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) crossed the finish line in 3:18.64 to reign among the nation’s best.
The 2008 nationals are scheduled for March 14-15 and are hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.
The men’s 4x400-meter relay team joins Julius Higginbotham (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria) (long jump) as provisional qualifiers for nationals, while Greg Tyson Jr. (Lima, Ohio /Lima Senior) has automatically qualified in the long jump and women’s sprinter Judy Bataille (Felicity, Ohio / Felicity-Franklin) is set to take part in the 55-meter dash, following a nation’s best 7.12 in the event she ran a couple weeks back.
