Childs Receives Second OAC Runner of the Week Honor

It is the second of the season Ohio Athletic Conference Runner of the Week honor for Heidelberg College runner Mark Childs (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany).

Childs took home two top-10 finishes at the Kent State Tune-up over the weekend, the first being a sixth place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:54.43. He also teamed up with Cory Beebe (Medina, Ohio / Cloverleaf)Justin Zuchowski (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick), and Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) in the 4x400-meter relay for a third place finish in a time of 3:18.64. The time currently stands at second in the nation, leads the OAC, set a new school record, and provisionally qualified the quartet for nationals.

Heidelberg races next at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 1 in Alliance, Ohio.
