Track Participates at Malone Invite

The Heidelberg College track and field team participated in the Malone Invite at Malone College in Canton, Ohio over the weekend. The team benefited from some very solid individual performances in the unscored meet.

Erica Tenwalde (Ada, Ohio / Lima Shawnee) earned the lone top-five finish for the women. She took second in the 1500-meter run, having completed the race in 5:13.00.

For the men, Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington) came in fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.39, while Mark Childs (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany) and Eric Hoogeveen (Westerville, Ohio / Liberty Benton) finished third and fifth respectively in the 800-meter run. Childs finished in 1:56.91 and Hoogeveen crossed the finish line in 1:57.63. In the 1500-meter run, Eric Holbrook (Circleville, Ohio / Logan Elm) came in fifth in a time of 4:11.08. Jarrod Saling (Caldwell, Ohio / Caldwell) rounded out the running events for the Berg, coming in third in the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:52.57.

Adam Ohlemacher (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) was the only Student Prince to finish in the top-five for field events, coming in fifth in the long jump with a length of 19’ 8 ¼”.

Heidelberg returns to competition in Ohio on Saturday, April 12, at the All-Ohio Championships held at Ohio Wesleyan University.
