Coming back to coach is another successful student-athlete Heidelberg alum, Julius Higginbotham.
An Elyria native, Higginbotham earned All-American honors in both indoor and outdoor long jump in his senior campaign. For his career, he nationally qualified in indoor long jump (2008, 2009, 2010), outdoor long jump (2010), indoor 55-meter dash (2009), and outdoor 4X100 meter relay (2007, 2010).
During his career, Higginbotham earned the Don Frail Most Outstanding Track Athlete (2009) and Bud Yoest Most Outstanding Field Athlete (2008, 2009) awards, which have only been rewarded to two other Heidelberg’s athletes in the history of the program.
With indoor and outdoor track combined, Higginbotham earned 20 All-OAC accolades. He currently holds Heidelberg’s indoor records in 55-meter dash (6.39), 60-meter dash (6.94) and outdoor records in 100-meter dash (10.83) and the 4X100 meter relay (41.45).
A 2010 Heidelberg graduate, Higginbotham currently resides in Tiffin and is pursuing his masters at the Berg.
