Horton Earns Weekly Honor

Austintown, Ohio – April 12, 2010 – Junior Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington), a member of the Heidelberg University men’s track and field team, was tabbed the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Over the training weekend, Horton contributed to the Berg’s runner-up performance with 100.5 points at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

 

Typically a sprinter, Horton stepped away from the individual sprints and topped the field in the 800-meter dash. He crossed the finish line in 1:57.19.

 

However, Horton did close out the invite teaming up with

Lance Kitchen (Urbana, Ohio / Liberty)

,

Shondell Thomas (Westerville, Ohio / Central)

and

Mark Childs (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany)

to finish second in the 4x400-meter relay. The group clocked a 3:21.37.
