Berea, Ohio – January 31, 2010- The Heidelberg University indoor track and field teams participated in the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Relays Saturday, January 30. The event was hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center.
Heidelberg’s men placed second of 10 teams with 96 points and the women finished seventh with 68 points.
For the men, sophomore John Gogle (Sunbury, Ohio / Big Walnut) and sophomore Jordan Karnes (Edgerton, Ohio / Edgerton) earned first place in the 3000 meter run relay (18:12.27), while senior Julius Higginbotham (Elyria, Ohio / Elyria) and freshman Josh Lynch (Dayton, Ohio / Meadowdale)finished first in the triple jump relay (86’8.25”).
Two second-place finishes came from Higginbotham and Gibril Kamara in the 55 meter dash relay (13.26) and sophomore Josh Bowmar (Marengo, Ohio / Highland), freshman Lance Kitchen (Urbana, Ohio / Liberty), senior Mark Childs (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany), and junior Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington) in the 4 x 400 relay (3:26:56).
