Tiffin, Ohio – July 29, 2010 – Sophomore Josh Bowmar (Morengo, Ohio / Highland), a member of the Heidelberg University Men’s Track and Field team, has been selected to the 2010 Division III Track & Field All-Academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
Bowmar, whose grade point average is 3.61, made an impressive mark on the track and in the field in his second season of participation at the Berg.
At the Dr. Keeler Invitational, Bowmar took home runner-up honors at the meet with a throw of 193’00. His mark was a provisional qualifying throw as well as topped his own school record of 184’11. It was the first time that Bowmar has landed a spot on the national list. He would later provisionally qualify in the 4x400 meter relay, as well.
In the Ohio Athletic Conference championship, where the men’s team earned first-place, Bowmar was among the top-scores with an overall of 12.5 points.
