'Berg Track & Field Takes Part in the Toledo Invite

Toledo, Ohio. – May 7, 2011 – The Heidelberg University men’s track and field teams, under the guidance of first-year head coach Bri Shook, participated in the unscored 27th Annual Toledo Invitational on Thursday and Friday hosted by the University of Toledo. 

Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington) (48.92) and Seth Robertson (Burton, Ohio / Newbury) (49.09) led the charge with a first and second finish, respectively, in the 400-meter dash.

In the 200-meter dash, Larry Massey (Royal Oak, Mich. / Wylie E. Groves) clocked in at 23.31.

Josh Bowmar (Marengo, Ohio / Highland) represented in javelin with a toss of 187.27’, while Frank Medina (Wakeman, Ohio / Western Reserve) recorded a throw of 50.42’ in shot put.

Also in the field events, Brett Pickens (New London, Ohio / Western Reserve) led Heidelberg in the hammer throw (104.33’).

Finishing strong in the long distance events were Kevin Neel (Wellington, Ohio / New London) and Dustin Kuess (Coldwater, Ohio / Coldwater). Neel ran in the 5,000 meter run (16:38.0), while Kuess finished in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at 10:09.8.

Next up for the Berg is the Dr. Keeler Invite on May 13-14 in Naperville, Ill.
