TIFFIN, Ohio—With one meet remaining before the 2012 Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Heidelberg University men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams competed tonight at the Ohio State University Tune-Up at French Field House in Columbus, Ohio. The meet was unscored.
Juniors Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek) and Josh Lynch (Dayton/Meadowdale) highlighted men’s action. Hendricks placed second in the 400-meter dash in 49.80 and Lynch came in second in the long jump with a mark of 46-10.25.
In the 1,000-meter run, sophomore Drew Avsec (Geneva) and senior Jacob Hoffman (Shelby) came in third (2:36.85) and fourth (2:38.32), respectively.
Sophomore Sophie Goobic (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) topped the women’s team with a third-place showing in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:15.08.
Heidelberg returns to action Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25 when it competes at the 2012 Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Capital University.
