Track & Field Teams Compete at Toledo Invite

TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s and women’s track & field teams competed today at the unscored Toledo Rocket Invitational at the Fetterman Outdoor Track and Field Facility in Toledo, Ohio.

Freshman Austin Bentz (Tiffin/Columbian) and senior Joe Yoder (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) highlighted men’s action with second-place finishes. Bentz recorded a mark of 20-8.00 in the long jump, while Yoder clocked a 49.42 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Freshman Desmond Vaugh (Cortland/Lakeview) clocked an 11.34 in the 100-meter dash, good for fourth place. Junior Gibril Kamara (Westerville/North) placed sixth in the event with a time of 11.86.

Junior All-OAC performer Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 18-6.00 and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.14.

Senior Jazmine Shaw (Columbus/Hamilton Township) completed the 400-meter dash in 58.61 and placed third.

Freshman Ally Blum (Galion/Northmoor) came in fifth in the javelin (96-7.00) and sixth in the discus (125-10.00).

Both teams will compete next weekend at a TBA “Last Chance” meet.
