Heidelberg Catch Muskies in Tiffin
The nationally ranked Heidelberg College wrestling team went fishing for Muskies in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual with Muskingum College tonight in Seiberling Gymnasium. The Berg’s outing was successful by a score of 35-10. Heidelberg won seven of the 10 weight classes for the win. The victory was the 10th-straight OAC win for the Berg in Seiberling Gymnasium.
Sophomore Dominic Cribari (Chesterland, Ohio / West Geagua) gave Heidelberg an early 5-0 advantage following a 21-4 technical fall at 125 pounds. Cribari led 5-0 after one period and utilized three takedowns, a three-point near fall and a two-point near fall in the second period to lead 16-4. Cribari sealed the victory 30 seconds into the third period.
Muskingum took 133 pounds to pull within a point, 5-4, but Clemens Artmann (Hillsboro, Ohio / Hillsboro) battled through scoreless first period to jump up 3-1 and recorded a fall at 5:43. Following in Artmann’s lead was Josh Levy (West Liberty, Ohio / West Liberty-Salem) with a quick takedown that resulted in a pin in 1:45 at 149 pounds.
Continuing Heidelberg’s dominance was Zach Mizer (Canton, Ohio / Perry). Mizer recorded nine points on three-point near falls and went ahead 11-0 before picking up a pin in 5:43.
Scoring Heidelberg’s next six points was Matt Curley (Lakewood, Ohio / Lakewood) with a 9-3 decision at 165 pounds and Hayden Angelotta (Novelty, Ohio / West Geauga) with a 6-0 decision at 184.
Rounding out the scoring on the night was senior Robbie Brubeck (Findlay, Ohio / Findlay) with a fall in 2:17.
