TIFFIN, Ohio—Senior first baseman Bessie Artino (Bellevue) and senior catcher Megan Reinhart (Tiffin/Fostoria Hopewell-Loudon) each belted two home runs today to lead the Heidelberg University softball team to a sweep of Baldwin-Wallace College in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, Ohio. The Berg won the first game, 9-5, and took the nightcap, 14-4.
Solo home runs by Artino in the top of the first inning and sophomore shortstop Erica Huffman (Strongsville) in the third and a single tally in the fifth gave Heidelberg (15-13, 5-6 OAC) a 3-0 lead.
B-W (16-14, 5-7 OAC) scored a run in the bottom half of the fifth, but the Berg rallied for six runs in the sixth to take a 9-2 lead.
Tabitha Murray belted a two-run homer in the B-W sixth and Katie Finley hit a solo shot in the seventh, but senior right handed pitcher Lexie Pinkelman (Metamora/Evergreen) held the Yellow Jackets at bay and earned the win.

In the second game, the Berg took a 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI double by sophomore left fielder Julie Okorn (Euclid), then jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the third. The Tri-Color sent 11 batters to the plate and rapped out five hits, including a three-run shot by Reinhart, en route to an eight-run inning.
The Yellow Jackets scored two runs in the third and another in the fifth to cut the deficit to 9-3.
A two-run homer in the sixth by Artino—her second of the day and fifth of the season—gave Heidelberg an 11-3 lead, but a solo homer by Feciuch in the bottom half prevented the game from ending early.
A two-run homer by Reinhart—her second of the game—and a RBI single by Artino in the seventh tacked on three more tallies.
