Reinhart Earns Postseason Honor

Austintown, Ohio - May 10, 2010 - Sophomore catcher Megan Reinhart (Tiffin, Ohio / Hopewell-Loudon) of the Heidelberg University softball team has earned a spot on the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention list. The All-OAC team is voted on by league head coaches and was announced following the conclusion of the OAC Tournament over the weekend.

Reinhart is picking up her first postseason honor of her career and is in her second year as a starter. For the year, Reinhart led the team with 12 doubles, two triples, a .621 slugging percentage and a .419 on base percentage. She was second in batting average at .350, along with being second in hits (36), runs scored (21) and runs batted in (23).

Under the guidance of second-year head coach Betsy Hada, Heidelberg concluded the 2009-10 season but not without setting the bar high for next year. Its 22-16 overall record ties for second-most all-time for wins in a single season. The team also eclipsed the most home runs in a single season with 21. Against league foes, Heidelberg finished 7-11. Included in its list of victories was a doubleheader sweep of nationally ranked Mount Union College, as well as victories against Muskingum University, Marietta College and Baldwin-Wallace College.
