Tiffin, Ohio - August 19, 2011 – Heidelberg University’s volleyball team regained a national ranking in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 preseason poll this year, jumping from no. 23 from a year ago to no. 12 amongst NCAA Division III schools. Previously this week, the Berg was voted once again by the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) head coaches to defend their conference championship title.
Under the guidance of 12-year head coach Jason Miller, the Berg will have a competitive schedule this season as they take on five other nationally ranked programs. Heidelberg will face no. 1 Calvin College on September 17 at the Wittenberg Border Battle and no.2 Emory University on October 29 at the Emory Invite.
The Berg will look to retain their OAC title this year as well as make another trip to the Great Lakes Regional Tournament. They begin their season with the ONU Invitational September 2-3.
