Heidelberg Senior venessa Haase Earns OAC Volleyball Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University senior outside hitter Venessa Haase (Miamisburg) was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week, announced today by the conference office. Haase had a well-rounded weekend in leading the Berg to a 4-0 record and a tie for the tournament championship at the Ohio Northern University Invitational in Ada last weekend. She was also one of three volleyball student-athletes named to the all-tournament team.

The volleyball team recorded four sweeps of Trine (Ind.) University, Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University, Defiance College and Thiel (Pa.) College.

Haase, who was a second-team All-OAC selection a season ago, tallied 29 kills and a .403 hitting percentage, four service aces, 24 digs and three total blocks. She ranks among the top three on the team in each of those categories.

Heidelberg will make this season’s home debut tomorrow, Sept. 7 when it hosts Hiram College in Seiberling Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
