Volleyball Splits on Final Day of Regular Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Heidelberg University volleyball team split a pair of neutral site non-conference matches on the final day of the regular season.   In the first game, Heidelberg swept DePauw 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 28-26).  The Student Princes fell to Carnegie Mellon in the second match 3-2 (25-22, 17-25, 27-25, 21-25, 15-13). 

Senior Jacki Street (Grafton/Midview) finished the day with a combined 21 kills to lead the team.  Amber Welfle (Norwalk/St. Paul) added 19 kills, while Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) added 17 kills.  

Setter Rachel Ferguson (Brighton, MI) had 39 sets on the day. 

Defensively, Tessa Benanzer (Ft. Loramie) contributed 42 digs.  

Heidelberg (18-13, 5-4 OAC) will begin postseason play as the #5 seed in the OAC Tournament.  They will travel to Marietta on Tuesday for a quarterfinal match.
