Marcie Alberts Named Head Women's Basketball Coach

Director of athletics Duane Sheldon is pleased to announce that Marcie Alberts has been named head women’s basketball coach at Heidelberg College. Alberts is just the eighth head coach in the storied history of the program that dates back to 1966.

“We are very excited to have Coach Alberts leading our women’s basketball program,” stated Sheldon. “She has been a winner as a player and a coach and brings a tremendous work ethic that our student-athletes will be expected to match.”

Alberts joins Heidelberg following a successful coaching career at Orrville High School in Orrville, Ohio. She amassed a record of 117-45 since 2001 and led the Red Riders to two Ohio Cardinal Conference Championships, along with three district crowns and a regional runner-up finish in 2005. While at Orrville, she was a two-time District Four Coach of the Year, while also garnering OCC Coach of the Year and Inland District Coach of the Year honors in 2004 ... Complete Story
