Top Ten Stories from 2012-13: #7 – Kathleen Phillips Joins 1,000 Point Club
As we prepare for another exciting school year, we will look back at 2012-13 and highlight the top stories. Today, we remember the 3-pointer from the corner that lifted Kathleen Phillips over the 1,000 point plateau. After hitting the shot, Phillips was presented with the game ball, which she gave to her father, Gary. Sadly, Gary unexpectedly passed away in June. Kathleen has dedicated the 2013-14 season, her senior year, to her father’s memory.
For the upcoming season, Kathleen and her teammates will be led by first-year head coach Morgan Shriver, a 2008 ‘Berg graduate.

It was a historic afternoon in Seiberling Gymnasium as junior Kathleen Phillips (Sandusky/St. Mary’s) became the 13th women’s basketball player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 career points mark, in a 75-62 loss to Otterbein University.
