A native of Mishawaka, Indiana, Matt comes to Heidelberg after graduating from Manchester University (Ind.) with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training.  While at Manchester Matt was a two sport athlete competing in basketball as well as track and field.

On the court, Matt finished his career with a free throw percentage of .900.  As a member of the track and field team Matt was a Heartland Conference placer in the 110 meter hurdles and high jump in 2011, taking a seventh and third respectively.  In his senior year Matt earned a fourth in the triple jump and an eighth in the 110 meter hurdles. 

Besides athletics, Matt participated in the Athletes in Action Mission Trip to Guatamala in 2012.  He also has taken part in Food Drive Mishawaka from 2004 to the present.

Matt has coached one basketball team competitively before traveling to Heidelberg.  He coached the Arena Heat varsity boys team out of Granger, Indiana that placed second at the AYBT Nationals in 2011.

Personal: Matt currently holds the Manchester University school record for the 60 meter high hurdles, which he set in 2012.  His older sister, Gabriella is a second grade teacher and his younger sister, Annalisa is studying Speech Pathology at Ball State University.  His father is a world-renown sculptor, while his mother works at Mishawaka High School; Matt's high school alma mater.
