A 2009 ‘Berg graduate, Morgan Shriver is the ninth head coach in the 47-year history of women’s basketball at the Heidelberg.
Entering her first season as head coach, Shriver is anxious to turn the program around.
“I’m honored to have the privilege and opportunity to coach at my alma mater,” said Shriver. “I want to focus on developing the complete student-athlete – academically, socially and athletically.”
As a student at Heidelberg, Shriver (formerly Harrigan) was a sport management and health and physical education double-major and a member of the Honors Program.
On the court, she was a four-year letterwinner and holds the Heidelberg record with seven 3-pointers in a game. She was an Academic All-OAC honoree three times, twice for basketball and once for tennis.
“We are excited about the direction that Morgan will lead this program,” said Athletic Director Matt Palm. “She has presented a vision that will emphasize high academic standards, personal growth and success on the court that is consistent with the vision of Heidelberg University.”
An Urbana High School graduate, Shriver was an all-conference, all-area and all-district standout in tennis, basketball, and softball.
Personal: Shriver and her husband, former Student Prince men’s basketball student-athlete Shawn, reside in Tiffin with their daughters Madelyn Jo and Mya … Completed her master’s degree in education in May 2013 … As an undergraduate student, she received the Paul H. Hoernemann Award.
