Tiffin, Ohio – February 4, 2010 – Senior center Betsy Shrider (Mount Blanchard, Ohio / Riverdale), a member of the Heidelberg University women’s basketball team, has been voted on the 2010 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV team.
Heidelberg is a member of District IV which consists of Division II, III and NAIA schools located in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
To be nominated for the all-district team the student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point and in at least their sophomore year at the institution and be a starter or key reserve. The all-district teams are voted on by sports information directors that are members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Shrider is majoring in public relations and English writing, while boasting a 4.0 grade point average. In her first season in the starting lineup, sheis averaging team-best 8.0 rebounds a night and leads the way with 46 blocks. Shrider also contributes 7.2 points a contest.
