Muskingum, Ohio – February 20, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s basketball team would end on a high note as they came away with a 64-56 win over Muskingum. The Berg ended regular season play with an overall record of 7-18 and 6-12 in the OAC, while the Muskies dropped to 8-18 overall and 3-16 in the OAC.
In the first half the Berg found themselves behind by 12 points with just under eight minutes of play remaining. They would not be able to recover and would end halftime down 34-27.
The Berg would turn things around after stepping back onto the court in the second half as they rallied up 12 straight points. The ladies would end with another shooting streak in the last minutes of the game as they put up 9 straight points.
Making her debut lead for the season was senior Alyssa Esposito (Brecksville, Ohio / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) scoring 18 points with 3 rebounds. Also, leading the team with doubles was Jenny Miller (Tiffin, Ohio / Clyde) who picked up 18 points and 13 rebounds and Betsy Shrider (Mount Blanchard, Ohio / Riverdale) who had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
