Columbus, Ohio – February 23, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s basketball team suffered a 68-45 setback to Capital University at the Ohio Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.
Heidelberg finishes the 2009-10 season at 7-19, 6-12 in the OAC, while the Crusaders improve to 19-7 overall and move on to the second round of the playoffs.
In the first half, the Crusaders came out strong and would have an early 14-2 lead within the first seven minutes of play.
The Berg would continued to battle and would go on a 6-0 run going into halftime with senior Stacey Barker (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) scoring all six.
Capital would lead 33-20 at intermission.
The Crusaders would continue to shoot at a high percentage in the second half, which would be too much for the Berg to overcome.
Leading for Heidelberg was Barker with 12 points. Senior Betsy Shrider (Mount Blanchard, Ohio / Riverdale) and junior Jenny Miller (Tiffin, Ohio / Clyde) scored nine points each.
Senior Stacy Richard (Galloway, Ohio / Central Crossing) contributed with eight points.
