Yellow Jackets Sting the Berg

Berea, Ohio – January 26, 2011 – The Heidelberg University women’s basketball team suffered a 67-43 loss to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Baldwin Wallace tonight at Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium.

The Berg falls to 1-17 overall and 0-11 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 15-3 and 10-1 against league foes.

Senior Jenny Miller (Tiffin, Ohio / Clyde) led two in double figures for the Berg with 12 points to go along with eight boards. Freshman Kathleen Phillips (Sandusky, Ohio / Saint Mary’s) followed with 11 points.

Also contributing was senior Kristen McConkey (New Carlisle, Ohio / Tecumseh) and sophomore Casey Bishop (Orrville, Ohio / Orville) with nine and seven points, respectively.

Racking up six boards each were Phillips, McConkey, and Bishop.

The Yellow Jackets’ offense was led by Megan Frisina who led three in double figures with a career-high 14 points. Following Frisina was Amanda Schroeder and Jessica Lairson who scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.

For the game, Baldwin-Wallace out shot the Berg, 48.9% (23-47) to 23.1% (15-65).

Heidelberg is back in action on Saturday, January 29 to host Muskingum University at 2:00 p.m.
