Heidelberg Defeats Albion in Overtime, Miller Records Double-Double

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Megan Miller (Tiffin/Columbian) recorded a double-double, two Kyra Dorney (Fairborn/Greenon) free-throws with six seconds left forced overtime and Paige Ricketts (Mineral City/Tusky Valley) was named tournament MVP.  All in a day's work for Heidelberg University's women's basketball team.

Heidelberg defeated Albion College 72-68 in overtime as part of the Mount St. Joseph Tip-Off Classic.  The win improves Heidelberg to 2-0 on the young season. 

The game was close throughout, with the point differential under 10 the entire game.  

Heidelberg rallied from a five-point deficit late in the contest, using a three-pointer from Miller and the free throws from Dorney to send the game into overtime. 

In overtime, Heidelberg took control with stifling defense and clutch shooting. 

Miller finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds.  Ricketts added 15 points and was named tournament MVP. 

Emily Giel (Burton/Berkshire) had 13 points. 

Heidelberg returns to action on Tuesday, as they welcome Earlham to Seiberling Gymnasium for the home opener.
