WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Heidelberg University Women's Basketball attempted only four free throws in a 55-46 loss at Wilmington on Saturday.
The Quakers attempted 29 free throws, sinking 18.
Heidelberg (5-14, 1-11 OAC)was led by Jordan Ickes (Wooster/Triway) and Paige Ricketts (Mineral City/Tusky Valley). Ickes had 11 points while Ricketts scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Student Princes used an 11-0 run in the first half to take a 22-12 led with nine minutes left in the first half. The Quakers whittled the lead down to 25-24 at halftime.
With the score tied at 36 with nine minutes remaining in the second half, Wilmington (12-7, 8-4 OAC) used a 13-4 run to take a comfortable lead into the game's final minutes. The Quakers would ice the game with free throws in the final minute.
Wilmington's LeAnn Topp recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss is the ninth straight for Heidelberg.
Heidelberg returns home to Seiberling on Wednesday evening, where they will face John Carroll University. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
