McConnell Completes 2007-08 Coaching Staff

19-year head coach Karen McConnell of the Heidelberg College women’s basketball team has named Sean Pinkerton as an assistant coach.

With the addition of Pinkerton, McConnell’s coaching staff is complete for the year. “I think that with his experience and with his drive, Sean will be a great asset to us,” McConnell commented, “I wanted to hire someone that wants to become a college coach, and Sean definitely has the determination and desire to do so.”

Pinkerton, a 2005 graduate of Hamilton College, worked as a student assistant for the Continental’s women’s basketball team.  He most recently was head coach for two years at the St. Lawrence Central High School girls’ basketball team in Brasher Falls, N.Y., where he was also a substitute teacher.

Pinkerton is a native of Ogdensburg, N.Y. and attended Ogdensburg Free Academy.
