Harrigan Picks Up OAC Academic Honors

Senior guard Morgan Harrigan (Urbana, Ohio / Urbana) of the Heidelberg University women’s basketball team has earned a spot on the Academic Ohio Athletic Conferene team. It is the second academic all-league honor for Harrigan. A season ago, she was tabbed an honorable mention pick.
 
The award winners are selected by the OAC faculty athletic representatives. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.
 
Harrigan carries a 3.88 gpa as a sports management/fitness major. In 2008-09 she led the team with 55 made three-pointers and with 40 steals, while standing second in scoring at 9.3 points a game and in assists with 56. She also hauled in 83 rebounds.
 
She will graduate with her named inked among the program’s best from long range. She owns the single-game record for made three-pointers at seven, which she set as a junior. As a sophomore she tied the then record of six, only to hit that mark again this season at Ohio Northern University. She also slid her name in third with five made on four separate occasions as a senior.
 
Heidelberg, under the guidance of first-year head coach Marcie Alberts, closed out the year with an overall record of 6-19 and was 3-15 against league foes.
