Women's Basketball Voted to Finish Ninth in OAC Preseason Poll
The Heidelberg College women’s basketball team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Marcie Alberts, has been tabbed to finish ninth in the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference regular season standings according to a vote by league head coaches.
First-place votes were divided amongst three institutions, with Baldwin-Wallace College earning five and the eventual number one spot. Capital University claimed four first-place votes and rank second followed by John Carroll University in third with one-first place vote. Wilmington College and Otterbein College round out the top-half of the standings, while Mount Union College and Muskingum College were voted to finish sixth and seventh, respectively. Ohio Northern University is immediately in front of the Berg and Marietta College closes out the 10-team conference.

Also looking to continue with their solid play from a year ago will by junior forward Stacey Richard (Galloway, Ohio / Central Crossing) and sophomore forward Jenny Miller (Tiffin, Ohio / Clyde).
Heidelberg faces four-straight road contests to open the season beginning up north at the Adrain College Tournament Nov. 15-16 and down south at Transylvania University for two outings Nov. 21-22. The Berg will entertain Oberlin College Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. in its first home contest of the year. League play begins at Wilmington Dec. 6.
