Alberts Announces Release of 2009-10 Schedule

Tiffin, Ohio – August 12, 2009 - Second-year head coach Marcie Alberts has announced the release of the 2009-10 Heidelberg University women’s basketball schedule. Its schedule features 25 regular season contests with 11 slated to be played on Sayger Court, on the campus of Heidelberg. Also included on the schedule are 18 Ohio Athletic Conference games.
 
Action begins on Nov. 20-21 in St. Louis, Mo. The Berg opens the season against Fontbonne University (Nov. 20) and on Nov. 21, Heidelberg will face Missouri Baptist University. The road trip continues to Mt. Vernon, Iowa as the Berg battles it out with Cornell College (Nov. 28) and then to Rock Island, Ill. against Augustana (Nov. 29).
 
Heidelberg plays its first OAC game of the season and its home opener against Otterbein College Dec. 2 before travleing to Ohio Northern University, in Ada, Ohio (Dec. 5). After another home game against Marietta College (Dec. 12), Heidelberg goes on the road for two straights games against Baldwin-Wallace College (Dec. 16) and Mount Union College (Dec. 19).
 
Its next seven of ten games are home games, including the Berg hosting 2009 OAC Tournament Champion Capital University (Jan. 6). The other six home games are against Bluffton University (Dec. 22), Denison University (Jan. 2), John Carroll University (Jan. 13), Muskingum University (Jan. 16), Mount Union (Jan. 23), and Ohio Northern (Jan. 30). The three away games will be Oberlin College (Dec. 29), Wilmington College (Jan. 9), and Otterbein (Jan. 27).
 
The month of February starts with a home game against Baldwin-Wallace (Feb. 3) followed by two straight away games against Marietta (Feb. 6) and Capital (Feb. 10). Heidelberg’s last regular season home game will be against Wilmington (Feb. 13).
 
The regular season closes with two away games against John Carroll (Feb. 17) and Muskingum (Feb. 20).
