Berg Competes At Otterbein Invitational

The Heidelberg University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Otterbein Invitational  this weekend. The men’s team finished third place overall with 79 points and the women’s team stood 11th with 281 points.
 
The men’s team had three runners to finish in the top-20. Leading the pack was senior  Devin Butcher (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green) with a timeof 26:08.16, which stood first in the final placings for all collegiate runners. Backing Butcher was Jacob Lemon (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) posting a time of 26:51.7 at 16th and Jordan Karnes (Edgerton, Ohio / Edgerton) with a time of 26:52.3 at 17th.
 
For the women’s team Bobbi Custer (Woodstock, Ohio / Norwalk) was able to lead the Berg again with a time of 25:15.1 finishing 33rd. Finishing 57th overall for the women was Michelle Fitch (Kinsman, Ohio / Badger) at 25:58.7 and Ninnette Ruch (Toledo, Ohio / Notre Dame), 26:08.7, at 61st place.
 
Both teams will compete again on October 2 at the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware, Ohio.
