TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s golf team finished in seventh place today at the two-day Heidelberg Fall Invitational at Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. The Berg’s starters had 422 strokes in the second round and totaled 842 strokes at the par-72 and 5,805-yard course.
After carding a 101 during yesterday’s round, sophomore Heather Lentz (Sandusky/Perkins) tallied a team-best 96 strokes and finished in 23rd place among 43 individual competitors with a two-round score of 197.
Local freshman Rachel Huth (Tiffin/Fostoria Hopewell-Loudon) shot a 100 to lower her first-round total by 10 strokes and placed 26th with a final tally of 210.
Freshman Destiny Miller (Dublin/Coffman) shot a 110 to finish with 214 total strokes, good for a tie for 28th place.
Freshman Felicia Konrad (North Baltimore) came in 31st place after a round-two score of 116 strokes and totaled 221 strokes overall.
Baldwin-Wallace College won the tournament with a 679 score.
‘Berg will complete the fall portion of its 2011-12 schedule in two weeks when it competes at Wittenberg University’s The Clash at the Clouse on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9 at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio.
