WOOSTER, Ohio - The Heidelberg women’s golf team continued the fall portion of their 2013 schedule at the Wooster Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at Wooster Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22.
Baldwin Wallace University claimed first place in the team standings with a two round total of 705 followed by the Fighting Scots. Wooster’s ladies carded a two-round total of 717 for second place.
The Student Princes were again led by freshman Lia Hodge who is having a stellar fall season. Hodge carded a 94 on Saturday followed by a 91 on Sunday for a 185 two-round total. Hodge finished tied for 20th individually.
Freshman Kerianne Murphy was the only other Student Prince to shoot a sub-200 two-round total as she carded a 98 on Saturday followed by a 100 on Sunday. Natalie Durtschi was the final freshman to score for the Berg as she shot a 105 followed by a 102 on Sunday.
Junior Rachel Huth and senior Heather Lentz rounded out the Berg’s scorers as the upperclassmen duo carded a 205 and 220 respectively.
Freshmen Donna Scott and Erin McGinty competed at the Wooster Invitational as individuals shooting a 230 and 274 respectively.
The Heidelberg women will travel to Colonial Hills Golf Club to finish their 2013 fall schedule at the Polar Bear Classic hosted by Ohio Northern University. The Polar Bear Classic is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 5 and conclude on October 6.
