Lockbourne, Ohio– April 10, 2010 - The Heidelberg University women’s golf team, under the guidance of first-year head coach Faith Egli, participated at the Purple and White Invitational over the weekend. It was hosted by Capital University at the Foxfire Golf Course.
Heidelberg finished 10th out of 13 teams. Also representing the Ohio Athletic Conference were Ohio Northern University, Otterbein College, Capital University, and Wilmington College, Baldwin-Wallace College, and Muskingum University. ONU (688) and Otterbein (693) took first and second place respectively.
Sarah Baker (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) and Tiffany Stark (Lancaster, Ohio / Lancaster) tied for 31st with a score of 201. Baker shot a 109 in round one, but recuperated and scored a respectable round two score of 92, while Stark posted a scores of 100, 101.
Following close behind was Jen Wargo (Middleburg Heights, Ohio / Midpark) who shot a 215 (111, 104), while Erika Danver (Jackson, Ohio / Jackson) scored a 226 (113, 113).
Heidelberg will tee it off again starting Friday, April 16 at the Hiram Scrimmage at Mohawk Country Club Golf Course.
