Tiffin, Ohio – September 27, 2009 – Heidelberg University women’s golf team hosted the 2009 Heidelberg Invitational over the weekend at Mohawk Country Club and finished last out of four teams. Jen Wargo (Middelburg Heights, Ohio / Midpark) 187 (86, 101) led the Berg and placed eighth overall.
Heidelberg shot an 818 over the course of two rounds. Finishing in front of the Berg was Ohio Northern University 681 (338, 343), Baldwin-Wallace College 795 (397, 398), and Defiance College 813 (404, 409).
Joining Wargo with a top-10 finish was Sarah Baker (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) 197 (96, 101) earning 10th place. Baker has placed 25th or better in the 2009 season.
Also contributing was Kaley Willer (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) 209 (109, 100) finishing in 16th place. Kathryn Dutton (Dublin, Ohio / Worthington Kilbourne) 237 (126, 111) and Kayla Percy (Cincinnati, Ohio / Saint Ursula) 237 (120, 117) tied for 22nd.
Heidelberg’s women’s golf team will next complete in the Pat Clouse Invitational starting Saturday, October 10 at Windy Knoll Golf Club.
